Oundle Transition Town Group

In Dec 2002 I installed solar panels on my south facing roof.

They are the flat panel type with a closed circulating water system which feeds into

a coil in my hot water tank. When the pump is not working there is no water flowing through the roof panels,

the pump is separate from the mains and powered by a photo voltaic panel on the roof beside the water panels.

When there is no sun to power the pump there will be no sun to heat the water, though it is surprising how

little sunlight is required to work it.

I have had no problems with it and am very pleased with the system, in this hot weather it has been my

only source of hot water for nearly 2 weeks. I am a single occupant of my house. There is a cut out if the water

gets too hot.

The installers were “ Solar Tech” ( Mr Shaun Taylor) of Evenly Northants

I gather that on his website there is a picture of my solar panels.
