The Oundle Transition Town Group (OTTG) was established to help our local community become less dependent on increasingly pricey fossil fuels, to reduce our carbon footprint and to seek ways to live more sustainably for a brighter, greener future.

Whilst our work is based on traditional values - helping each other, sharing knowledge, pooling skills - our approach looks to the future - exploring ways to do more but use less, embracing new technologies to improve living standards and seeking to protect our environment for future generations.

We have a number of current projects which could help you save money and diminish your carbon footprint.

Energy Assessors - we are training 11 volunteers who will be able to give you a free assessment of your home and suggest ways to improve its energy efficiency.

Oundle Local Exchange- We are putting in place a structure to enable people to offer their time and skills in exchange for other people's. Can you offer your time, is there a job you need doing?

Local Food Suppliers - We have a searchable list of food suppliers who offer food produced within 50 miles of Oundle.

This website can help you to lead a cleaner, greener lifestyle. There are also regular meetings which you would be welcome to attend should you want to play a part in the OTTG yourselves.

Please join us.....many hands make light work!

Let's Do Things Differently

The Oundle Transition Town Group (OTTG) was set up to help our local community reduce the use of fossil fuels and to promote greener lifestyles.

We are a voluntary group, founded on traditional values - helping each other, sharing knowledge and pooling skills – but we look to the future - exploring ways to do more but use less, embracing new and alternative technologies to improve living standards and lessen our reliance upon increasingly expensive and polluting energy sources.

Our current projects include:

providing local householders with a free home energy assessment and support to reduce their household bills and carbon footprint. Click here for details

a local skills exchange programme –enabling people to offer their time and skills in exchange for other people's. Click here for details

the development of a community garden.

a searchable database of local food suppliers.Click here for details

Added to which we have information on local people’s own experiences of taking steps to reduce their energy bills and their carbon footprint.  Have a look at David Wood's guidelines.

Please join us and bring your ideas to the group. Our work will have a significant impact if many people make a few changes to the way they live their lives - many hands make light work!

Who we are and what we do

Oundle Transition Town Group set out to help people in Oundle and the

sorrounding villages prepare for the move from dependency on increasingly

the many changes which moving away from Oil will bring.
